One author. A small army of scripts. A very serious unicorn agenda.
Hi — I'm Cassie Alexander. By day I'm a nurse. By night (and weekends, and pre-dawn, and every stolen moment between shifts) I'm building what I believe will be the first billion-dollar solopreneur creative empire. I am dead serious about this. I am also serious about unicorns. These two facts are related.
I've been independently publishing romance and urban fantasy novels for over a decade. My author home is cassiealexander.com. This site is something else — it's the workshop where the empire gets built in public.
What I'm building
Cassie Alexander Studios is the operational side of a one-person publishing house that refuses to act like one. AI-assisted, stubbornly human, aggressively ambitious. That means:
- Project Arachne, the translation pipeline that gets my books into more languages without losing what makes them mine
- Cover localization & paperback wrap automation (hello, CoverForge)
- A DIY newsletter and email system on Supabase + SES, running for actual pennies
- Marketing automation across Amazon, Meta, TikTok — the marketing machine I'm calling Project Hermes
- Project-specific dev companions that occasionally develop opinions
- Every absurd, beautiful, glittery idea I can ship before I change my mind
Why unicorns
Because they're rare. Because they're stubborn. Because they're a little impossible and completely uninterested in being realistic. "Unicorn company" in tech means a billion-dollar valuation; "unicorn" everywhere else means a thing so rare people aren't sure it's real. I'm aiming for both definitions on purpose. Unicorn is a strategy, not a mood.
Also: they are my spirit animal and this is my website. I make the rules here. ✦
Who this is for
Indie authors wondering how far you can push AI-assisted tooling without losing your voice. Builders curious what working pipelines actually look like on the ground. Fellow future-solopreneurs with a stupidly big vision and the courage to say it out loud. Lurkers welcome. Skeptics welcome. People who think this is all a little much — especially welcome. (We'll see, won't we.)
How I write here
Like I'd text a friend about what I shipped this week. Short updates. Occasional deep-dives. Absurd AI exchanges. Build notes that are honest about what broke. The glitter is real but so is the code.
