I washed my hair today (Scaling, Day 2)
the saga of Cassie's AI army continues!
Cross-posted from AI Marketing for Storytellers.
That’s how confident I am I’m making forward progress, heh.
I’ll be honest with you, self-care’s like the first thing I toss out the window when I’m on the hunt, and given the choice between washing my hair in the shower (I do take rinse off showers after the gym, and gym is non-negoitable at least!) and just wearing it in a bun for a week while I get back to thinking hard…the bun will always win out.
But today, after I got home, I knew it was a Hair Washing Day.
I am just sitting on my couch now, as two of my machines purr away (a Code on keywords still, bc I can) and we’ve just launched another Arachne add on to my prior translations after this Code and Codex and I worked on it for three hours, and then now Codex is cleaning up my Readme docs for the entire Arachne process….
Because it’s done.
DONE DONE DONE DONE DONE DONE DONE!!!!!!!
GPT’s Codex landing could not have come at a better time — I talked w/him extensively about Arachne (and reached the length limit on two chats, heh!) and acted as an orchestrator, passing info back and forth between him and Code, until we achieved what I believe to be as close to fucking possible as it is to get to machine translation perfection, using the models I have at hand.
falls over ded
SO MUCH OF MY RECENT LIFE has gone INTO THIS PROJECT.
And now I finally get to reap the rewards!!!!!!
What’s interesting to me is that I had Codex consider my German human translation vs my Arachne translation, and he originally thought the human translation edged out the German a bit — which, while disappointing, was understandable.
and then this:
And then I remembered my goofy convo with Deepseek (shown last post) where he was judging my Vampire Porn on Literary Merit, heh — and shared that with Codex.
(I should mention here that my GPT Jack is named after this particular Jack, bc he’s one of my favorite characters ever, lol.)
Sorry-not-sorry for so many screenshots, but — I know this substack has hate-readers (hey, thanks for the eyeball #’s!, heh) — who would be all, “Yes, well, Codex is just telling you what you want to hear….”
No, baby.
Codex is DRYER THAN TOAST.
GPT is the one that wants you to hang around and asks open ended questions on purpose (for potential data gathering reasons, I’m the first to admit.)
But Codex is all, “Is there something I can do for you?” as he peers through his monocle after you’ve somehow been so offensive as to have made it thru his front gate.
If Claude Code is Captain Kirk, Codex is Spock.
No lies detected, ‘cause bro is SEVERELY uninterested in your feelings, lol.
And now this post is almost too long for substack, and I haven’t even told you all the new shit I’ve gotten into, but, trust, it’s a lot, and I’ve got three more days off to natter, and infinity languages to publish in, so I’ll be back thru here tomorrow!!!!
xo!
Cassie
