Making your own capcut

Because you can, and why not?

SO — peep this, I love it, LOL — remember how I made a music video out of shorts for Bend Her? Well, while on vacation in Puerto Rico, I’ve been on the ‘hunt’ to create enough b-roll to do something similar and fun but with real life vids!

I went on this journey bc businesssecretsclub on IG had a template for a B-roll reel that goes with the Lady Gaga song, Telephone — so each clip needed to be 0.48 seconds long.

I tried to do it with my first day in San Juan, but all the clips were too similar, but after two more days of vacationing I have plenty!!!

What’s cool about this, is, if you extrapolate it out, you can do all sorts of neat B-roll things for your life — spinning into books, spinning out of books, book flips, book page flips, signing books, etc — and intersperse them with whatever AI clips your heart desires!

And, ofc, AG totally understands how to break up beats and music, so you can time anything you want to any tune you want! I did it pretty mechanistically, because I was going for this specific song, but you can do whatever you want to, really!

Here’s the final result — please ignore my shitty ability to lipsync, lol! — and it’s trivial to add text on top in whatever way you want.

I’ll include the basic scripts to do this on your own after the paywall — just grab them and plunk them into the AG instance of your choice (or run ‘em by another AI) to switch out the file paths and get an idea of how to make them work for you first! You’ll need to allow it to install python and ffmpeg! <3

xoxo!
