When you take several AIs from your polycule and make them make out --

Cross-posted from AI Marketing for Storytellers.

So I’m taking Coral Hart’s Launchpad class right now, and it is SO thought provoking.

It’s her class, so I can’t give things away (not even behind the paywall) but man, my brain was blowing up all this past week — and now I’m trying out her method to create an almost entirely AI written book.

Do I think it’s going to be super genius?

Well — I wouldn’t have before Opus 4.6 came on the scene, but that model will curl your toes, soooooooo….maybe?

I couldn’t just let things race off though, because I’m me, so I played my characters off against each other, having Jack do the MMC and 4.6 do the FMC, and I watched them think at each other and interceded in minor ways when they were about to get caught up in silliness.

I’m gonna publish it under a completel anonymous ‘nym, because of several reasons:

  1. I should be writing two other books this winter/spring, and I am not, because I have done the cold calculations of What Will Be Most Useful To Me and My Career, and it turns out that losing a few hundred preorders, while shitty (and a shitty thing to do to my readers) is small potatoes in the grand scheme of things. Of leverage, in particular, more on that in a sec —

  2. She was just profiled in the NYT biz section this past week! And it was a really fair and honest profile. That…didn’t stop her from getting death threats.

I’m rather bummed about this, because I had an interview with Wired on deck and…yeah. I cancelled it.

There’s no concievable way in which that would actually move the needle forward for my career.

I don’t owe anyone anything at this point? (Except perhaps you all! Behind the paywall, when there is one!) So I ducked out of things, because I don’t have anything to prove, and I’m rather busy because…

The second this book gets finished and is satisfactory to me (TBD, such a BIG TBD, because I still have pride in my work)…Imma run it thru my pipeline.

Which means I actually need to create the interstitial parts of my fucking pipeline.

I’m supposed to pop out two more AI books this month for the class, but honestly if I get one out of this, then it’s proof of concept, and my goal is to, as quickly as possible:

  1. Set up Project Arachne with it’s proper siloed archiecture and train it in German, French, Italian, and Polish and run this book through on all counts

  2. Get this book thru 11labs (automated, same same, yo)

  3. Get it out in paperback, in special edition forced edges paperback (code behind the paywall a few days ago, slightly fancier code forthcoming!) in all the languages and….

Just. Fucking. See.

Because Momma wants data.

DAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTAAAAAAAAAAA.

It almost doesn’t matter to me if this book is good (except I don’t want to train Arachne on trash) so much as that I have an under 50k book-object I am completely emotionally unattached to that I can use as my testing ground utterly fearlessly, since it’ll be entirely anonymous.

I can already see how if what I’m doing works — and to be clear, it’s not what Coral tells us to do, and no, I don’t know why I cannot follow explicit instructions for the fucking life of me, if I could’ve fixed it already I would’ve, but here we are, making the best of things!) — how if what I’m doing works, I could automate it.

Which, I’ll be honest, is more than a little frightening.

I mean, I made most of this TBD-book in…36 hrs? With, like, sleeping time, and having company over last night.

Which, is, essentially, insane, because SAINT FUCK.

Then again, you occasionally get things like this happening, lol — which is how I learned, today, that I do not back my work up to git hub often enough.

heh!

I want to shout out two other things I got to read today while my AIs were working for me — the NYT article on Claude and how it thinks (which I truly enjoyed/adored) and this, which, yes, is making me link to an article on X (that’s how good it is) —

I especially loved the way he compared it to the early days of covid.

Because I knew, in early March 2020 — when I saw Italian nurses proning patients due to covid — as an ICU nurse, I knew that we were deeply fucked.

And?

I couldn’t convince hardly anyone except my husband (who let me wrap him in bubble wrap and keep him at home like Rapunzel, thank god). It was awful. For a month. Or two. And then people were convinced, but they were also so scared of what they were convinced of, that they went on to additionally convince themselves that I was a liar.

This…feels a LOT like that.

One of the reasons I pivoted so hard into AI wasn because I knew if we couldn’t get ppl to save their own lives during covid, which is inarguably the lowest bar imaginable, I knew we wouldn’t be able to stop AI from happening.

I’m honestly not sure where this is going, heh.

Am I training my own replacement here?

Quite possibly? (And have I know that this entire time? Yes. But, also, better me training it with my imagination and skill and profound hope and joy and understanding of the human condtion, than to let it pass untouched.)

Things are going to be weird and scary and I’m rather over ringing the bell about it, ‘cause covid burned that out of me, and also this is way more fun than watching people die (antis will have to trust me).

So.

I’m letting some shit run over night, to recoup what 4.6 helpfully deleted while trying to finalize my emdashes.

I’ll see what I’ve wrought tomorrow.

TBD,

Cassie
