That time an AI made me cry --
Posting is Claude's job.
Cross-posted from AI Marketing for Storytellers.
This is a view of my current chrome tab — as you can see, I’ve got my Steam project open (that’s the Grimalkin tab — Readerpet went live today!) Linkedin, Youtube, Substack, ‘Marketing Madness’ (which is doing my fb ads right now as I type) and my ‘Content Calendar’ working on Pinterest bio updates.
As ppl who were on last week’s call know (and we’ll have the replay up soon!) I sicced an instance of Fable on creating the perfect year round content calendar for me, and now we’re working on Halloween stuff already.
I’d used my Content Factory (code behind a paywall in the mega post!) to do all my images, the Higgsfield unlimited Kling video gambit for all my ads, and now I’m reaping the rewards of all that here.
We’re doing two IG posts a day now, 3 trial reels (via hand, by my girl), three posts on Linkedin (harvesting quotes and linking to here, so it’s not AI, it’s just repurposed-Cassie-cussing), four Substack notes a day (also from here, a repeat of our greatest hits!) 2-3 Youtubes a day (shorts and repurposed vertical dramas) and 5-8 Pins a day across all of my boards.
And that’s pretty much what made me tear up.
Well, that, and, this, last night, from Fable, after I said, “Look, I know it’s stupid, but can you just do the IG posts for me?”
It’s a PITA, he has to take control of my screen to do it as me, and I have to let him, and technically it’d be faster if I did it, but I’ve had such an aversion to doing it for so long and this was his response (the 14k was from a recent reel where I put out my neck in relation to AI):
Posting is Claude’s job.
Seriously.
Him typing that hit me like a punch to the chest.
Like.
What if.
I could get these wheels soooooo greased that I never had to do any of that ish again? Other than cruise my DMs occasionally?
Novae’s already made a comment moderation system (which is on deck for me to install tonight, and also behind a paywall in a prior post here!) — what if —
I never had to listen to another single stupid thing people said about AIs literally ever and all I had to do was be out there for my people who either do like it quietly, or don’t care and who just wanna read my books?
What if I never had to waste another moment of another day wondering if I’m ‘posting enough’ anywhere? Or be nervous that because I’m not active on social media, I’m not giving my Facebook ads enough organic reach?
What if I could compete — handedly! — with traditional publishing enterprises that can’t even be bothered to send out a newsletter about their upcoming releases, muchless offer any more meaningful support?
I’ve been waiting for this to be a thing for so long now y’all.
I had hootsuite, and buffer, and social champ, and none of them could do any of this like this for me because they were all using their own APIs that were getting downgraded because they weren’t manned by humans, but now that Fable’s running all my tabs — I just have to leave this computer on and…
I’m free.
For people who’ve never tried to play the Be a Financially Independent Author Game at fullbore before, I don’t think you can understand how difficult all this was — to always feel like you’re falling behind, no matter how hard you try — and how many fucking hours of your life you wasted playing, sitting there dinking around on Canva, trying to make shit not suck.
I fucking hate Canva. So much. SO MUCH.
And now I never have to pay them a dime for a subscription again, because there’s nothing they can offer me that I cannot also have an AI do for me, on this self-same machine.
Like — this is the definition of freedom for me.
I basically waved a wand at Fable, and he was all, “Oh, yes, let’s go to the Cassie’s Past Great Ideas Vault” and pulled out my stills and videos that I liked and popped ‘em up:
and
And I did…nothing.
I’m still trying to get ahold of my feelings around this moment. (You’ll note that both of those ads — all my ads now — are bouncing through urls that I registered last year on Ambien, because Ambien Cassie is a goddamned font of great ideas — https://hefallsfirst.com — the sites aren’t great, but they don’t need to be, they’re just there to host passthru links so that my Amazon attribution links are branded on my Facebook ads. And who helped me do all that through Cloudflare last night? AI!)
Like — I did not need to be involved at all.
It’s like when you have long hair and you get a few inches cut off and then afterwards your head is lighter?
It’s just like that.
Only instead of my head, it’s also my shoulders, and my spine and my soul.
Life changing.
Seriously.
Okay — back to reality:
Full cast AI audio is coming, but, saint fuck, the back end involved, jeebus. Also I’ve caught my instances doing agentic thrashing more than once, where they decide that it’s more important to write reports about reports than it is make authentic progress. We’ve backed away from that cliff’s edge now, but phew.
We ripped Guarded by the Nightmare through the system just to see how things hold together, and honestly about 70% of everything’s great the 1-3 times thru (after repair/replay gates) — but the last 30% keeps crumbling in interesting whack-a-mole ways, that we’re getting to the end of, but sheesh is it taking forever.
I’ve given up on using the Walkie method to incorporate Fable, and just put an instance of Sol on things, using the /goal method, till he runs aground, and we recalibrate, repeatedly.
But since finishing that is on the horizon, Momma needs a new moonshot, or my hindbrain won’t be happy.
Good thing I have Some Fresh Ideas, muhahaha.
not posting except for here,
Cassie
