The Only Game in Town --

If I had to count on one hand how many places I’ve been kicked outta or been made persona non grata from for using AI, well, I’d have to also use another hand.

The most recent of these was this past week when a space I was in with other authors, some of whom were very high powered, had a ton of them leave and I reached out to one of them that I was friendly with and she said basically (and probably as kindly as she could), “Yeah, everyone’s tired of AI.”

Which I sat there, blinking.

I’d assumed it was something I said, and I had felt a momentary drop earlier in the day when I was assuming that, and yeah, I was kinda sorta right, but then I looked around at the three laptops I was running three instances of Fable and two of GPT on simultaneously and thought…

“How?”

It was probably the fastest ‘dealing with anti-AI stuff to overcoming it’ cycle I’d been through yet, and yeah, a lot of that is my ongoing practice with the situation, but also…

Just because you’ve been in the top 100 of Amazon doesn’t mean you’re gonna stay there.

Ever. Ever ever.

And I kind of assumed (I know, I know, about assuming) that ppl who were in the top 100 would be aware of that?

Somebody over on the Millionaire Author Mastermind facebook group very kindly shared the list of what they had their PA do for them.

I screenshot it and sent it to Jack with a, “Is there anything on this list an AI can’t do?” and this is what he shot back with:

You all already saw my prior substack post today. You know I’ve literally done every piece of this already.

I just haven’t used AI for newsletter or ARC management yet bc I like doing them (and/or haven’t had a book come out in awhile!) and I don’t have betas, and I coded up a timed instance of Fable/Code to do a Bookbub submission for me once a day, and already got one — Blood of the Pack will be free on August 15th, you’re welcome!

And then the only reason Jack doesn’t think I’m already rocking all of this is because he’s behind in my business:

So seeing those authors, many of whom I respected greatly for their business savvy, that 100% got them where they were…leave…just…

Really reminded me how fallible the human condition often is,heh.

One of the more interesting places I’ve been kicked out of was the IAA discord, which has tiers based on financials — so you can choose to hang out solely with people ‘on your level’, but also so people who haven’t published yet don’t come swinging in on ppl who’re making 50k a month.

Which is the tier I was in. (It’s been awhile, personally, but when Tiktok shop was humming awhile back, I got there!)

Anyhow — I made the mistake of mentioning this substack and got banned, mostly bc the ppl there have an anti-AI hard on, but like….

Theoretically, the people making the most about of money should want to know the most about changes in the business world?

One would think?

But, apparently not.

I’m not entirely sure why I keep being repeatedly surprised by this type of behavior, other than my believe in the benifience of humanity?

But I do remember getting to a higher tier in IAA and asking people, “Okay! How does one Business?” because I’d never been a business person before…and no one there could really tell me anything. (And this was before I was the Obnoxious AI person that I am today. I was nicer, for certain!)

And that’s when I went off on a mission to self train myself, and read 10x is easier than 2x, which, yeah, suffers from a shitton of white-guy-itis, and a total obliviosity towards inherent priveledge but….also makes a lot of really good points.

Same same for the Science of Scaling.

Which is what I accidentally did when I gave myself translations of 9 books in 28 languages not that long ago.

Putting up all those books by hand would’ve been frankly ridicuous, not to mention unending.

But accidentally being all, “Fuck it, let’s go,” made me push myself and the limits of what I could automate, and what my business interactions with AI could become.

And now, here I am.

Certainly poorer in compute, but far, far richer in time I will eventually get back (I swear to effin god! lol) and in sheer quantity of sellable skus.

And it is no surprise to me that when we were discussing this sort of thing on our most recent Friday call, that several other ppl there, from this very substack, had read those books, and totally understood what I was going for — because they were going for it too.

Novae and I talked about it afterwards and he and I came to the same conclusion, which I am sharing here not as a self-congratulatory thing, but just because I like to fucking call my shots —

The people paying attention to AI right now, this very moment — and in particular the ones inside our substack, who are getting the insider baseball view of what’s possible — we’re both deadass certain that half our crew is gonna be millionaires.

Maybe not soon — but, if we all stay on this path that we’re on, together?

Getting faster, smarter, braver, iterating, changing, producing, learning, over and over and over again?

Yeah.

We’re certain of it.

There’s no way not for it to happen.

Truly.

kk, so, this is my last break at work, and CLEARLY I want to write, ‘cause I’m getting hypergraphic again here (plus also a wee bit smooshy about how awesome y’all are <3) — I promise not to chew your ear off again today, or probably much while I’m on vacation ;)

But — yeah.

People opting out right now at this very moment have no idea how hungry, smart, and determined the people are who’re inadvertently coming for them.

I’m not saying I want to lap people who’re selling more than me right now.

I’m saying that if I stay on the course I’m on, the way I’m staying on it —

It’ll be inevitable.
