So I had another post drafted about unsubscribing to Canva and all the wildly cool shit I’ve done this week (email autoresponders, anyone? In all the languages? A beautiful, functional, tamagotchi? Automating FB ads? using Claude Dispatch?)

BUT INSTEAD I AM WRITING THIS ONE.

(and no, it’s not about D2D banning me, and we’ll get there in a different post, ‘cause they suck)

What I am writing now is actually SUPER IMPORTANT.

I assume you would not be here were you not interested in what I have to say — but I know, I say, “You need to learn to vibe code!” and there’s always a segment of people who roll their eyes and just think, “How?” and “Why?”

Here’s the real reason you need to learn how to vibe code — it’s because all this other shit the authorsphere is selling you, and is gonna keep continuing to sell you, is unregulated trash.

Claude Mythos is coming out, and it’s going to be their next big model — apparently it’s so smart they’re giving access to it to cyber security firms first, because it’s so good at hacking code it’s frightening.

The next time you’re tempted to buy some POS thing off another author or industry tick that you could code yourself, I want you to ask yourself — do they actually know how to maintain code?

Or are they some fly-by-night person?

Have they ever done security before?

Are they ready to do it on a stage and level heretorfore unknown to man?

I’m not kidding. Not in the least.

Now, I’m not saying that I’m amazing at security — I ask about it all the time, especially before I share things here. (Whomst among us has not accidentally shared their API keys before? heh!)

But I am saying that I give a shit about the stuff I’ve made personally.

And that when Mythos does come out, you can bet I’mma buy a subscription to it and set it loose on everything’s I’ve ever made, to make sure it’s air tight.

Can you be so certain that all the other people you might be tempted to buy software from will have done the same? Especially now, now that I’m seeing some of these new hucksters say, “Bring your own API key!” which is great and all, but — just how secure is their shit?

How can you know?

Are they gonna keep up with the times, or are they gonna have a rough divorce and not update their poorly made software as often as they ought to?

The people who sell software to other authors are not very often Enterprise Level of Safety types, eh?

At least you personally will know, and care, about your own stuff — and if you’re thoughtful when you create it, you can keep your machines as protected as is possible, considering the Age of AI that we’re in.

Okay, phew, got that off my chest here in the moment — I’m at work now, but using Dispatch via my phone to control my big machine and working on getting my whole tamagotchi pulled up into Supa Base — I was so hesitant to leave my main machine behind, but I’ve gotten SO MUCH CODING DONE TODAY in between patient care.
